In our mind, chocolate is the best tasting food in the world.

Okay, okay, you’re right. The entire solar system.

cioccolato fusoWe say the word, ‘chocolate’, and immediately our thoughts drift to melty, drippy chocolate creations of the past. It’s deeply and intensely satisfying on so many levels. The taste, the texture, the aroma…it’s comforting, like only a best friend can be, and yet also completely gratifying, kind of like finding the perfect pair of jeans.

Theobroma literally means ‘Food of the Gods’, and there is a reason for that. The more than 300 phytochemicals within the cacao pod are delicious little powerhouses of health-supporting goodness. Beginning in the 1500s, publications began to note the uses of cacao for reducing fever and fatigue, and for improving heart strength and lung function.* Other manuscripts from the past cite uses ranging from kidney support to increased appetite.*

Today, we know cacao contains a wide array of unique properties and minerals, including high levels of sulfur and magnesium, antioxidants, and iron. It’s rich in chromium, anandamide (the bliss chemical), theobromine, manganese, copper, omega-6 fatty acids, PEA, trytophan, serotonin, and more!

Honey is another substance that has been used for centuries for its medicinal grade qualities. Long touted as an antioxidant-rich, enzyme-filled, hormone-supporting, skin-nourishing food, honey is the perfect way to add both sweetness and additional health benefits to your chocolate.

Chocolate + Honey = Your mouth and body will thank you.

Now saunter over to your kitchen and pull out the ingredients noted below. We’re positive this sweet chocolate is going to turn your day into the best one ever!
